Drawings do not build themselves. You will turn schedules, trade sequences, and client expectations into finished homes, cottages, and commercial spaces that stand up to inspection and handover. When weather, damage, or a missed delivery threatens the plan, you reset the site the same day. This role matters because quality, safety, and schedule are won or lost in the field.
Performance Objectives
- Deliver active projects to agreed milestones, inspections, and handovers without unexplained slippage.
- Direct trades and suppliers each day so work flows in sequence and rework stays rare.
- Hold finishes, envelopes, and structural work to luxury and commercial standards before work is covered or accepted.
- Run every site so safety rules, permits, and site plans are followed, with preventable incidents at zero.
- Track labour, materials, and equipment against budget and flag variances early, with facts - not excuses.
- Brief project leadership, consultants, and clients on progress, risks, and decisions before they become surprises.
- Mobilize crews for emergency restoration so damaged properties are secured, dried, and rebuilt without delay.
Environment & Resources
You report to construction leadership and work beside project managers, estimators, and field crews. Sites include custom homes, cottages, commercial builds, and time-critical restoration. You direct site labour, coordinate subcontractors, and stop unsafe work. Drawings, schedules, daily reports, and standard safety systems are your tools. Sequencing, quality holds, and short-term resource shifts are yours to call.
Essential Qualifications
- A record of running residential, cottage, or commercial sites from start through closeout.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, and schedules and convert them into a daily work plan.
- Hands-on direction of trades, safety enforcement, and clear site documentation.
- Working knowledge of provincial building, permit, and occupational safety requirements.
- Straight communication with owners, consultants, and crews when the schedule is under pressure.
- A valid driver’s licence and readiness to be on site when the work requires it.
