Skilled Labourer With Welding Experience (Door Technician Support)
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30-$35/hour
About The Opportunity
We're a trusted leader in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial doors, gate systems, and dock equipment. We partner with major mining and industrial companies across Canada, which means real variety and the chance to work on large-scale projects, including underground installations.
We're growing, and we're looking for a hands-on skilled labourer with welding experience to support our door technicians on site. If you're mechanically inclined, good with a welder, and ready to learn a trade with room to grow, we'll give you the tools, training, and support to get there.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay: $30-$35/hour, with premium pay for out-of-town work, underground assignments, overtime, and double-time on weekends and holidays.
- Tool and boot allowance.
- Paid uniforms, cleaned and restocked by a third-party service.
- Comprehensive health and dental benefits.
- Paid training programs and certifications.
- Pension plan and RRSP matching.
- Company truck (depending on availability) OR fuel card provided.
- Company-paid power tools (you supply your own hand tools).
- Paid time off and flexible scheduling.
About The Role
You'll work alongside our door technicians to help install, repair, and maintain doors, gates, and dock systems. Your welding skills will be put to use for on-site repairs and custom fabrication, and you'll pick up the trade as you go. Around 20% of the work may involve out-of-town travel, including underground projects. All site-specific training and certifications are provided.
What You'll Do
- Support the lead door technician with installs, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial doors, gate systems, and dock equipment.
- Handle welding for on-site repairs and custom modifications.
- Help with preventative maintenance and inspections to keep equipment running.
- Prep materials, tools, and the work area, and keep the company vehicle stocked and ready.
- Keep accurate records, including time logs and job details.
- Bring a professional, helpful attitude with customers, contractors, and teammates.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
- Take part in training to build your skills.
What You Bring
- Welding experience (required). Certification is a plus but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
- Some experience with mechanical systems, doors, gates, or related equipment is an asset.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable with power tools and physical work.
- Able to work at heights and in changing weather.
- Adaptable to different sites, schedules, and conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willing to pass a background check.
