Entering its 48th year, the Toronto Children's Chorus (TCC) is committed to providing life-enhancing experiences for children through the study and performance of the choral art. Under Artistic Director, Zimfira Poloz, TCC continues to build its successful tradition of providing unparalleled choral music education to over 300 young singers in the Greater Toronto Area. Our organization comprises a number of ensembles including KinderNotes, Training Choirs, and the Main Choir, including the TCC’s Chamber Choir.
Job Description
The TCC is seeking a passionate, versatile and highly skilled Collaborative Pianist for our 2026-2027 season. This position involves playing all rehearsals and all required events for the TCC Chamber Choir and most TCC Main Choir and TCC Massed Choir performance pieces. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays and Fridays near Yonge & St. Clair, running from 5pm to 7:30pm, September through June.
This is an exciting opportunity for a pianist who thrives in a dynamic and intensive choral environment and enjoys working at a high artistic level. The TCC Chamber Choir performs throughout Toronto and on international stages, collaborating with leading conductors, composers, orchestras, and choral organizations around the world.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess:
- Master of Music in piano performance, collaborative piano, or equivalent
- Experience playing for children and youth choirs
- Comfortable working in rehearsals, professional performance halls, and touring environments
- A deep understanding of choral music and vocal technique
- Flexibility and versatility across a wide range of repertoire and musical styles
- Excellent sight-reading and the ability to learn music quickly
- Experience reading accompanied and acapella choral scores with 6+ vocal parts
- Sensitivity to young singers and an ability to inspire and support them musically
- Strong communication, reliability, and a positive team spirit
