We are a medium-sized, central Toronto lighting distributor dedicated to providing top-quality lighting solutions and exceptional service to our commercial, contractor, and retail clients. We are currently seeking an experienced Counter Sales Person with strong electrical and lighting knowledge to join our growing team.
Job Title: Counter Sales Person
Job Location: 955 Roselawn Ave (Roselawn Ave & Marlee Ave)
Working Hours: 40 hours/wk, 5 days a week: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General Responsibilities:
- Processing customer orders at the sales counter
- Handling incoming customer emails and phone calls
- Providing quotations where applicable
- Collaborating with sales and purchasing to prepare orders and confirm stock arrivals
- Assisting with warehouse receiving by signing for deliveries, verifying shipments against packing slips, and routing paperwork to Accounts Payable within one business day
- Accurately picking, packing, labeling, and staging customer orders for local pickup, freight delivery, or courier dispatch.
- Checking weekly inventory counts in Windward, flagging low or slow-moving items to purchasing, and ensuring stock is neatly organized on shelves off the floor.
- Coordinating with the RMA department to process supplier returns and dispose of defective materials.
- Supporting facility maintenance to ensure the warehouse, counter area, customer washroom, and parking lots remain clean and safe.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
- Customer Service: Minimum 2 years (Required)
- Lighting Industry: Minimum 3 years (Required)
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organization, detail orientation, and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong discretion, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
