Winter Control Operator

(Contract position, 40 hours per week)

Position description
The Town has an opportunity available for the contract position of Winter Control Operator. This position will be diligently fulfilling the maintenance duties associated with inter control within the Public Works division. This is a five (5) month contract position, anticipated to begin November 16, 2026, and end on April 9, 2027. Hours during this contract period are forty (40) hours per week, weather permitted. There may be occasional overtime based on business needs.
Job duties
- Operating equipment and performing manual labour to carry out the Infrastructure Services maintenance responsibilities related to winter control, including operating trucks, loader back hoes, and other equipment used for maintenance of municipal services, primarily for winter control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completed a minimum Grade ten (10) education.
- Valid DZ Ontario Driver’s License.
- Six months of previous experience snow clearing and using heavy equipment, preferably on roadways.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Good communication and listening skills.
Hourly range: $30.28 to $35.43 per hour, band 5 on the Town’s 2026 pay grid
