Sales Director (Confidential Search)
Venture-backed, seed-stage marketplace based in Montreal, with about 80 employees.
- Scale: 2,500+ suppliers across North America, 5M+ plant units delivered, 650K+ plant lines estimated, 27 states and provinces served
- Pitch: Most landscaping back-office functions (payroll, accounting, fleet, CRM) have been modernized. Plant procurement still runs on phone calls, emails, spreadsheets, and disconnected supplier catalogs. A contractor sends a plant list, and the company handles sourcing, price comparison, quality assurance, logistics, delivery, and payment. The service is free to landscapers, with no membership or signup fee.
- Problems solved:Fragmented supply: hundreds of nurseries, no shared catalog, no reliable availability data
- Manual sourcing per project: supplier calls, inconsistent pricing, availability gaps
- Jobsite risk: wrong specs, poor material quality, late deliveries
- Labour scarcity: procurement coordination consumes hours contractors do not have
Compensation
- CAD $150,000 to $200,000 base plus bonus
