The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Parts Manager to join our Maintenance & Procurement team at our Winnipeg facility.
The Parts Manager - Winnipeg, manages and controls the flow of parts required to support daily shop operations. The incumbent oversees parts ordering, kitting execution, inventory accuracy, and warehouse organization to ensure technicians receive the right parts at the right time. Reporting directly to the Shop Manager, this role works closely with shop leadership and technicians to maintain safe, compliant, and cost-effective parts operations at the Winnipeg site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Parts Kitting & Availability: Direct daily parts kitting to support scheduled maintenance and repairs. Verify kits are complete and staged before vehicle arrival, confirm kits are labelled by repair order and unit numbers, and ensure required tools and materials are available and serviceable.
- Inventory Returns & Control: Perform monthly cycle counts, validate that unused parts are documented and returned to inventory, and confirm the Bill of Materials reflects actual parts usage. Identify defective tools and route them for repair or replacement while ensuring shop bays are cleared of packaging, scrap, and warranty cores.
- Vendor & Warranty Performance: Monitor vendor delivery, quality, and order accuracy while applying purchasing and warranty procedures consistently. Track warranty parts, cores, and exchanges, and escalate recurring vendor or supply issues to the Shop Supervisor.
- Ordering & Warehouse Efficiency: Review repair orders for parts accuracy, place orders for parts, consumables, tools, and safety equipment, and manage deliveries, pickups, and internal distribution. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse while positioning inventory to support daily shop workflow.
- Inventory Accuracy & Utilization: Perform inventory counts to confirm system accuracy, monitor stock levels, cycle counts, and dormant inventory, and support reduced equipment downtime through parts availability. Identify continuous improvements to inventory control practices.
- Safety & Process Improvement: Support controlled storage and distribution of safety equipment, work with technicians to improve parts flow and efficiency, respond to urgent or unplanned parts needs, and promote safe parts handling and storage practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma.
- Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in parts, inventory, warehouse, or maintenance support functions.
- Transportation industry experience is considered an asset.
- Technical & Functional Expertise:
- Proficient with inventory systems, office software, and basic reporting.
- Strong knowledge of parts kitting, inventory control, and fleet/heavy-duty shop maintenance operations.
- Core Competencies & Capabilities:
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy and practical problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization, time-management, and workload prioritization capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across shop leadership, technicians, service writers, and vendor networks.
