Role Description
Treadstone Law is hiring an Associate Lawyer for its family law and litigation practice. This is a contract hybrid position. You will carry your own file load and work with the firm’s lawyers and legal team.
Responsibilities
- Manage a file load of family law and civil litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits and other court documents
- Prepare financial disclosure, and negotiate settlements and separation agreements
- Attend court, case conferences, motions and mediations
- Communicate with clients and keep them informed at each stage
- Work with the firm’s lawyers and legal team
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of family law or litigation experience
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Strong litigation, drafting, negotiation and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong legal research, drafting and oral advocacy
- Good organization, and the ability to manage deadlines across many files
- Clear and prompt communication with clients
- Comfort working with digital tools in an online practice
