Overview
We are seeking a Material Management Specialist to join our Factory Loading & Material Management team. In this role, you will coordinate material planning and inventory management activities to ensure material availability and support production requirements. You will act as a key connection point between Scheduling, Procurement, Warehouse, Production, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams, proactively identifying and resolving material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and material-flow issues. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ownership, and the ability to independently coordinate actions through resolution.

Your Tasks:- Coordinate material planning activities, monitoring requirements, inventory levels, shortages, open orders, lead times, and supply constraints to ensure material availability according to production priorities.
- Analyze historical and forecasted material demand to support inventory optimization and planning of long-lead-time materials, including the definition and periodic review of Safety Stocks, Reorder Points, and other MRP parameters based on demand, lead time, supply risk, and inventory targets.
- Monitor overall inventory levels and health, identifying shortages, excess inventory, slow-moving materials, and opportunities to optimize inventory while protecting production continuity.
- Coordinate cross-functional actions with Scheduling, Procurement, Warehouse, Production, Engineering, and others to proactively resolve material shortages, constraints, and other issues impacting production.
- Investigate and drive resolution of inventory discrepancies, including differences between physical inventory and SAP records, missing or unreported material consumption, incorrect transactions, and other deviations. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Support the analysis and identification of obsolete and phase-out materials, working closely with Engineering to validate their technical applicability, replacement or discontinuation strategy, remaining requirements, and inventory disposition.
- Supporting Material Master governance, maintaining and validating relevant MRP settings, ensuring data consistency, supporting users, and coordinating corrections or system-related issues with the appropriate functions.
- Support Material Master governance and data accuracy, validating planning parameters and coordinating cross-functional corrections when master data, BOM information, procurement settings, or warehouse information could negatively impact MRP or material availability.
- Monitor relevant Material Management KPIs and lead continuous-improvement initiatives focused on material availability, and inventory optimization.

Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Material Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Production Planning, or similar activities, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge and practical experience with SAP MM and MRP processes. SAP Key User experience is considered an asset.
- Good understanding of material planning, inventory management, Safety Stock, Reorder Point, forecasting, lead-time management, and Material Master data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, make decisions within the role's scope, and drive issues through resolution.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and initiative, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and proactively anticipate risks.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate and influence cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including regular interaction with shop floor and warehouse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI or other data-analysis tools are considered an asset.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency Act, we are committed to providing clear and accessible information about compensation for this role. The expected compensation range for this position is CAD $70,000 - $82,000 / Annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several job-related factors, including relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, professional certifications or license, specialized skills aligned with the role, and internal equity considerations. This role offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including paid vacation, group health benefits, pension plan, bonus, and additional employee programs.
