Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks, and loads to ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, and brokers to manage freight assignments.
- Monitor driver locations and load progress using dispatch software and GPS systems.
- Communicate load details, routes, and instructions clearly to drivers.
- Handle driver inquiries, resolve issues, and provide support while on the road.
- Track shipments, maintain accurate logs, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Manage last-minute changes, delays, and emergency situations effectively.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dispatcher in trucking, logistics, or transportation (preferred).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with dispatch/trucking software and MS Office.
- Knowledge of DOT, safety, and compliance regulations (an asset).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
