Our client is seeking an experienced Underground Services Miner to support the safe and efficient operation of a major underground mining operation. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing critical underground infrastructure, including ventilation, dewatering, air, water, and utility systems.
This is a site based position that requires working on site in Northern BC following a two weeks on/two weeks off rotational schedule.
Starts with 6 months temporary employee contract with possibility of extension.
Client provides camp, meals, and charter flights from major flight hubs on the West Coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair underground utility and service systems.
- Support ventilation and dewatering operations.
- Construct and maintain underground infrastructure, barricades, and work platforms.
- Operate underground support equipment and service vehicles.
- Perform workplace and equipment inspections.
- Maintain safe working conditions through housekeeping and road maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to support production goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Minimum 2 years of underground mining experience.
- Experience with underground services, pumps, piping, ventilation systems, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of underground mining safety practices.
- Ability to read drawings and follow installation plans.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands of underground mining work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Underground miner training/certification.
- Mine rescue or emergency response experience.
- Fall Protection, Confined Space, or Elevated Work Platform certifications.
- Experience operating underground mobile equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with pumps and piping systems.
