Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and improvement of food and beverage formulations.
- Prepare samples and conduct benchtop product trials.
- Accurately weigh ingredients and document formulations, methods, observations, and results.
- Coordinate and support sensory evaluations and product testing.
- Research ingredients, suppliers, processing methods, packaging, and industry trends.
- Assist with ingredient declarations, nutrition information, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Support product scale-up and production trials.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and food-safe product development workspace.
- Communicate project updates and technical findings clearly to the True Leaves team.
- Help coordinate multiple client projects, timelines, samples, and deliverables.
- Protect confidential client, product, and formulation information.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Culinary Innovation, Nutrition, or a related discipline.
- Experience in food or beverage product development, food manufacturing, quality assurance, or a related technical environment is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with measurements, calculations, formulation percentages, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of food safety, allergens, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Strong research, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard business applications.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, fast-paced team.
- A practical, curious, and solutions-focused approach to product development.
