Role Description The General Labourer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kitchener, ON. Day-to-day tasks include assisting tradespeople, loading and unloading materials, site cleanup, and supporting construction activities such as basic demolition, material handling, and preparation of work areas. The General Labourer will operate basic hand and power tools, follow site safety procedures, and help maintain organized and hazard-free workspaces. This role also involves following directions from site supervisors, supporting project timelines, and working effectively with other team members in varying weather and site conditions.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, standing, and working outdoors for extended periods.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools, and willingness to learn safe operation practices.
- Strong attention to safety, including following instructions, using personal protective equipment, and complying with site regulations.
- Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and crew members.
- Good communication skills and the ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions.
- Previous experience in construction or general labor is an asset but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
- Ability to travel to and from job sites in Kitchener, ON, and surrounding areas; valid driver’s license is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
