Annual Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000
Division: Education
Reports To: Vice President, Education
Location: 2180 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON
TVO Media Education Group (TVO) is devoted to inspiring learning that changes lives and enriches communities. We are an internationally recognized digital learning organization that strives to engage, inform, and educate Ontarians of all ages.
Who we are
We are an agency of the Ontario Ministry of Education and a registered charity that contributes to learning, civic engagement, and public service media across Ontario. We provide free, trusted, and accessible educational content that can support Ontarians of all ages, regardless of background, location, or circumstance. To fulfill our mandate, TVO delivers curriculum-connected resources through TVO Learn and TVOkids, offers Ontario’s largest online high school through TVO ILC, and produces journalism, documentaries, current affairs programming, and podcasts with TVO Today that help Ontarians understand the issues shaping their communities.
What we’re looking for
Learning can open doors and change lives. At TVO, we bring that belief to life through engaging content, services, and technology for learners across Ontario. As we work toward becoming a globally recognized digital learning organization, we need a leader who can turn bold ideas into strong, sustainable operations.
TVO Education supports learners at every stage. TVOkids sparks curiosity in young children and families. TVO Learn and Mathify support students and educators. TVO ILC creates pathways for secondary students and adult learners. Together, these programs form a powerful continuum of learning across Ontario.
Digital education is moving quickly, and so are we. Learner needs, technology, and expectations for impact continue to evolve. TVO Education needs smart, connected operations that help great programs thrive. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, entrepreneurial leader who enjoys making complex things work better. The Director, Education Operations will connect strategy, performance, finance, data, and accountability across TVO Education, building the operational engine that helps the portfolio adapt, grow, and deliver greater impact.
The Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Education and working alongside the Education Director team, the Director, Education Operations leads learner and customer experience, portfolio operations, business planning, financial stewardship, and data and analytics across TVO Education. The Director turns strategy into coordinated plans, strengthens performance intelligence, and collaborates with Growth on revenue diversification and sustainable growth. The role also supports the Vice President, Education in developing and stewarding strategic education partnerships and external relationships through operational insight, financial analysis, implementation planning, and performance measurement.
This role calls for an entrepreneurial mindset, strong business judgment, confidence with data, and a collaborative approach. Rather than managing education programs directly, the Director creates the systems, insight, and operating conditions that help the portfolio work smarter and deliver greater impact.
