Role Description 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Year Plumbing Apprentices will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in commercial, industrial, and service environments. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting pipe, assembling and installing fixtures, reading and interpreting drawings, and supporting journeypersons with layout and troubleshooting. Apprentices will follow safety procedures, use hand and power tools, and help maintain clean and organized work areas. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Calgary, AB, requiring reliability, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in plumbing installation, fixture assembly, and basic system troubleshooting.
- Experience working with pipe, including measuring, cutting, threading, and fitting in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to perform maintenance and repair tasks on plumbing systems and related components.
- Strong customer service approach, with professional communication skills when interacting with clients and site personnel.
- Registered as a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Plumbing Apprentice in Alberta or eligibility to register.
- Knowledge of and commitment to occupational health and safety practices, including use of PPE and adherence to site rules.
- Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites in and around Calgary, AB; willingness to work varying shifts as required.
- Team-oriented mindset, punctuality, and strong work ethic; prior experience on unionized job sites is an asset.
