The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking a D365 Finance & Operations Principal ERP Platform Architect to serve as the enterprise technical authority for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform, with accountability for platform health, scalability, resiliency, lifecycle management, and long-term ERP platform direction.
This role owns the D365 F&O environment strategy, release governance, OneVersion upgrade program, development platform, and production support model. The Principal Systems Administrator partners closely with Business Systems, Finance Systems, Infrastructure, Security, Data & Integration teams, Microsoft, and external implementation partners to ensure a secure, stable, and scalable ERP ecosystem.
Operating at the intersection of platform strategy, architecture, DevOps, and system administration, this role combines expert technical leadership with hands-on execution to support Ulteig's critical financial and operational systems.
What You’ll Do
Platform Administration & Governance
- Serve as the enterprise technical authority and platform owner for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Establish and maintain ERP platform standards, technical roadmaps, environment strategies, and governance guardrails.
- Lead cross-functional ERP platform initiatives, including enhancements, integrations, upgrades, ISV solutions, and major business changes.
- Evaluate ambiguous platform decisions for long-term operational, security, integration, scalability, and business impact.
- Ensure alignment with Microsoft best practices, Ulteig technology standards, and the long-term ERP platform strategy.
Environment Management
- Own the D365 F&O environment strategy across Production, Integration, Stage, Development, QA, and other environment models.
- Provision, configure, refresh, maintain, and retire environments using Lifecycle Services (LCS).
- Define environment topology and deployment pipeline standards to support development, testing, release, and operational readiness.
- Coordinate code migrations and environment readiness throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to maintain platform compliance and reliability.
Release & Deployment Management
- Lead the technical strategy and execution for D365 F&O releases and production deployments.
- Manage deployment schedules, release readiness reviews, and go-live activities.
- Coordinate application updates across environments while minimizing operational disruption.
- Support enhancement deployment processes and release governance.
- Maintain deployment standards, release governance practices, and automation approaches that improve reliability and reduce risk.
OneVersion & Platform Updates
- Own Microsoft's OneVersion update lifecycle and long-term platform upgrade strategy.
- Evaluate new platform releases, feature updates, and quality fixes.
- Coordinate testing, validation, and deployment of Microsoft service updates.
- Partner with business stakeholders, testing teams, and implementation partners to ensure successful adoption of platform changes.
- Develop upgrade strategies, stakeholder readiness plans, and risk mitigation approaches for platform changes.
DevOps, Development Support & Automation
- Maintain Azure DevOps build and deployment pipelines.
- Improve CI/CD processes, release automation capabilities, and technical standards for solution delivery.
- Manage build environments and deployment infrastructure.
- Guide development best practices, source control standards, branching strategies, and code promotion processes.
- Collaborate with internal developers and external partners on technical solution delivery.
Performance, Stability & Monitoring
- Monitor application performance, availability, and system health.
- Implement and maintain performance monitoring solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex and ambiguous technical issues involving environments, integrations, deployments, and platform services.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and drive long-term resolution of recurring platform, integration, and performance issues.
- Partner with Microsoft Support on escalated platform incidents.
Security & Administration
- Support environment-level security, configuration, platform administration, and ERP governance practices.
- Ensure adherence to change control, release governance, and segregation-of-duties requirements.
- Participate in audit reviews and compliance initiatives.
- Review technical configurations and platform settings for security, compliance, operational effectiveness, and long-term supportability.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Serve as the primary technical authority for Microsoft, implementation partners, strategic vendors, and ISV providers.
- Review and approve technical approaches, architecture decisions, and deliverables produced by consultants and vendors.
- Coordinate support escalations, platform-related projects, and partner delivery expectations.
- Provide expert technical guidance for ISV solutions, platform extensions, and partner work to ensure alignment with Ulteig's ERP platform strategy.

What We Expect from You
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive ERP, enterprise platform, systems administration, technical architecture, or related business systems experience.
- Expert-level Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience, including LCS, OneVersion, Azure DevOps, environment architecture, release automation, and enterprise production support.
- Demonstrated experience establishing technical standards, governance models, roadmaps, and operating practices for enterprise business platforms.
- Experience leading large-scale ERP initiatives through influence across business, technology, vendor, and implementation partner teams.
- Experience reviewing technical approaches and deliverables from consultants, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Experience supporting enterprise ERP implementations, integrations, production operations, and platform modernization efforts.
- Must have permanent authorization to work in Canada

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $163,800 - $221,800 CAD
