Position: Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager
Reports to: Floor Manager
Division: Retail
Location: U of T Bookstore, St George Campus
Pay Rate: $24.50 up to $26.50 per hour
What You’ll Be Doing:
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and commercially minded Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager to create engaging in-store displays that reflect our brand identity and drive customer engagement and sales. The Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager will be responsible for maintaining compelling product presentations, implementing seasonal campaigns, and ensuring all visual standards are consistently executed across the retail environment. They will also train and supervise other members of the GM team to ensure that visual standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
-Create and maintain attractive, product displays and in-store merchandising that align with the store brand.
-Execute visual merchandising guidelines, seasonal campaigns, promotions, and product launches. And train support staff to maintain and execute merchandising standards.
-Develop creative product presentations that encourage customer engagement and support sales objectives.
-Regularly refresh displays based on inventory levels, sales performance, seasonal trends, and marketing priorities.
-Collaborate with store management, marketing and buying teams to ensure visual strategies align with business foals.
-Conduct regular visual audits and identify opportunities to improve store presentation.
-Assist with store openings, renovations, special events, promotional launches, and seasonal changeovers.
-Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-3 years of visual merchandising experience in a retail environment.
-Strong understanding of retail presentations, product styling, colour, composition, and spatial design with a proven ability to design in store displays.
-Ability to lift, move and install displays, shelving and merchandise as required.
Key Skills
-Ability to interpret and execute visual guidelines consistently.
-Excellent eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
-Independently motivated and able to work on self-directed projects.
-Ability to teach other staff members on proper visual merchandising standards.
