Finish Carpenter / General Contractor: Micro Home Builds

About the role
UR-SPACE designs and builds code-compliant micro homes and garden studios across Calgary. We're looking for an experienced finish carpenter who's ready to take ownership of a build from start to finish, not just swing a hammer, but run the job.
What you'll do
- Act as General Contractor on our micro home builds, from groundwork through to final finish
- Own the schedule, the budget and the site, start to finish
- Complete the finish carpentry yourself: trim, millwork, cabinetry, detailing
- Source and manage the trades: electricians, plumbers, HVAC, concrete
- Coordinate suppliers, deliveries and inspections
- Keep the site safe, clean and organized
- Report progress to the project lead and flag issues before they become problems
What you bring
- 5+ years as a finish carpenter, with proven quality of work
- Comfortable working independently, and equally comfortable directing others
- Experience delegating and coordinating subtrades: you know who to call and how to hold them to standard
- Self-sufficient: able to solve problems on site without waiting to be told
- Own tools and a valid driver's licence
- Red Seal certification an asset but not required
