The Role
We're looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to handle the day-to-day buying that keeps our production running. Our products are built by contract manufacturers in Canada and the U.S. and at our own facility in Bellingham, WA. They rely on us to supply the components that go into every system: LED drivers, circuit boards, cable assemblies, wire, batteries, solar panels, hardware, and signage. You'll make sure those parts are ordered, confirmed, and delivered to the right site on time, and that every order is accurate in our ERP.
This is a hands-on role on a small, collaborative team. You'll work alongside our order processing, logistics, and inventory team members, and everyone shares ownership of our Sage Intacct ERP. It's a great fit for someone who's organized, persistent with follow-ups, and enjoys building good working relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing
- Issue purchase orders in the ERP (Sage Intacct) for components, cable assemblies, electronics, hardware, and supplies
- Request quotes, compare pricing and lead times, and confirm order acknowledgements
- Revise POs as pricing, quantities, dates, or ship-to details change
- Follow up on open orders and expedite anything at risk of delaying production
- Place catalogue and web orders with distributors
Supplying our production partners
- Arrange for materials to ship directly to contract manufacturers, Bellingham, or our Victoria office
- Coordinate component kits and consigned material for circuit board assemblers and other partners
- Buy parts for warranty replacements and urgent customer needs
Suppliers and records
- Keep supplier details, part pricing, and lead times up to date in the ERP
- Help onboard new suppliers, including arranging samples for quality review
- Answer questions from our inventory and finance team members about purchase orders, pricing, and supplier accounts
Planning support
- Turn material forecasts into timely purchase orders
- Flag shortages, long lead-time items, and supplier delays early so the plan can adjust
- Share supplier lead times and pricing changes that affect forecasts
- Keep open PO trackers current
Team support
- Work closely with our order processing lead, logistics coordinator, inventory lead, and Bellingham production team
- Keep purchasing records accurate
- Support Engineering with part questions, alternates, and samples for new products
Key Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience (Projected range of $55,000-$65,000)
- Annual profit-sharing bonuses
- Three weeks annual vacation to start
- Comprehensive medical and dental benefits
- Bi-weekly Flex Fridays
- $500 CAD annual health and fitness credit
- $1,000 CAD annual education credit
- Public transit/active commuting reimbursement
- High-quality snacks, coffee, and teas
- Team building events and meals
Location
This role will be in-person at our office located in Victoria, BC.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll be the go-to person for what's been ordered, when it's arriving, and where it's going. You'll be accountable for accurate POs, on-time component deliveries, and clean purchasing data in our ERP.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or an operations support role
- Diploma or degree in supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
