V6 Director of Business Development – Western Canada
Canada imports more than two million tonnes of commercial phosphates a year and since 2013, produces none. We are building the Canadian owned and operated terminal marine and rail corridor that brings it in directly. We need the person who will promote and position what comes through it.
V6 Agronomy Inc. Full time, new position, based in Saskatchewan, starting January 2027. Base $120,000 plus an uncapped plan paid on volume committed, sold and collected; about $220,000 at plan.
The Company
V6 Agronomy is a Canadian crop nutrition company, founded in 2012. We bring phosphates and specialty fertilizers into Canada through our new Odyssey Terminal at the Port of Johnstown on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Tonnage moves west by rail to various rail transload locations across AB, SK and MB and our distribution hub at Wilcox, Saskatchewan. Since 2016, V6 has provided ELEVEN Superstart, our starter fertilizer, and select commercial phosphates to farms and dealers across the Prairies. Our first vessel discharged at Johnstown in November 2025 and the second arrives late this November. At full build the terminal will handle over 400,000 tonnes a year of commercial phosphates and high phosphorus EEF's (enhanced efficiency fertilizers), about a fifth of what Canada consumes per annum.
The Job
You own the Prairie order book. You sign and support the dealers and independent retailers who carry V6 products, run the dealer program, manage our sales agents, and turn demand into contracted, paid tonnage that gets delivered on time. You take the book over from the CEO in your first sixty days. You report to the CEO and sit on the management team. Pricing, product and the order in which we enter new markets, in Canada, the United States and overseas, are decided at that table, and your read of the market goes into each of those decisions. You are on the road across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba from November to April.
What you bring
- Ten or more years selling crop inputs on the Prairies, with a dealer or retail book you built yourself.
- Standing with growers, traders and Ag retail managers. A CCA or P.Ag designation is a strong asset.
- Working command of volume, margin, payment and credit terms, and the discipline to sell on paid
tonnes.
- A self-managed calendar, a valid driver's licence, and the willingness to be on the road through the
booking season.
What we offer
Base salary of $120,000. A performance plan paid on a per tonne basis, with no cap. That pays about $100,000 at the 2027 plan and more than $180,000 on the 2028 plan. A vehicle allowance and fuel card, benefits, and a retention payment at three years. An important seat on the management team.
How to apply
Send a résumé with references and a short note on the dealer book you have built to julie@v6agronomy.ca, with Director of Business Development - Western Canada in the subject line. Applications close November 20, 2026. No software screens applications. The core management team at V6 reads every one, and every applicant will hear back by December 11th.
