About the Opportunity
Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting
- Lead the review of quarterly and annual financial statements and external reporting in accordance with IFRS.
- Prepare and review support for MD&A disclosures, annual reports, quarterly reports, and investor materials.
- Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and assess their impact on reporting activities.
- Apply strong critical thinking and technical expertise to analyze complex accounting and reporting matters.
Capital Markets & Strategic Finance
- Lead the finance workstream for debt and equity issuances in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support budgeting activities, financial planning initiatives, and ad hoc analysis for senior leadership.
- Assist with investor relations requests, investor presentations, and key stakeholder reporting requirements.
Audit, Controls & Process Improvement
- Manage quarterly reviews and annual audits, coordinating with external auditors and internal finance teams.
- Own and enhance internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and automation to increase efficiency and reporting quality.
- Support ad hoc projects and information requests from senior management, lenders, and rating agencies.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a team of 5-6 finance professionals located across Canada and internationally.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities while fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Partner closely with senior finance leadership in a highly visible role with significant exposure across the organization.
About You
- CPA-CA designation.
- Currently operating at the Senior Manager or Director level within public accounting or industry.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise under IFRS and/or US GAAP.
- Experience leading teams and developing high-performing finance professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex reporting requirements in a large, sophisticated organization.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Salary Range
$160,000 - $180,000 / year + 30% bonus
