The Branch Operations & Support Lead is responsible for overseeing daily cash management, operational controls, facilities coordination, and administrative functions for the Powell River and Texada branches. The role also provides coaching, and support to Financial Services Representatives (FSRs), ensuring exceptional member service, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management.

Major Responsibilities:
FSR Team Lead:
- Provide day-to-day coaching and support to the FSR Front line team
- Assist with supporting the staffing requirements for the branch – hiring, onboarding, training, supervising, and coaching
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor FSR staffing levels to ensure appropriate branch coverage
- Perform ongoing coaching sessions with FSRs encompassing all areas of employee growth and development that will contribute to an outstanding and lasting member experience being delivered.
- Ensure that employees are oriented and trained, and that skills are maintained and upgraded as technology, products and services change; coordinate training sessions through in house resources and external contacts where possible.
- Promote all-inclusive team environment that results in engaged and invested employees who contribute to a high branch morale.
Branch Operations:
- Order, receive, ship, and maintain appropriate cash and coin levels for both branches.
- Collect and reconcile teller cash and coin at the end of each business day.
- Ensure FSRs, vaults, CRUs, and ATMs remain within established insurance limits.
- Balance, maintain, and troubleshoot Cash Recycling Units (CRUs).
- Balance, maintain and troubleshoot ATMs, ensuring captured cards are processed according to policy.
- Ensure General Ledger accounts are balanced at the end of each day.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and conduct audits of branch cards and CAD/USD official cheques in accordance with security and control procedures.
- Resolving member issues to their overall satisfaction
- Assist the Branch Manager and Assistant Manager with branch maintenance and facilities issues, including coordinating service calls and trades as required.
- Order, monitor, and maintain inventory of branch stationery and office supplies.
- Ensure adherence to credit union policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and security standards.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of First Credit Union products and services, including continual development to be aware of changes in the industry.
- Support compliance with anti-money laundering (AML), privacy, fraud prevention, and operational risk-management requirements.
- Support the execution of day-to-day back-office processes, including documentation, data entry, member account maintenance, and other administrative workflows.
- Support in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all support functions, aligning processes with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
- Secondary school diploma.
- Four years’ experience in the financial, sales or service industry, one year of which at a leadership capacity.
- Education or equivalent experience with Products & Services, Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning, and Business Financial Statement Analysis.
- Superior knowledge of financial products and services.
- Demonstrated accountability for both personal and branch-assigned growth goals, targets and major initiatives.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve, with strong organizational skills and emphasis on time management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented focus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform under pressure, and demonstrate great initiative, resourcefulness and flexibility.
- Ability to develop a correlation between personal actions, service execution, and member expectations.
What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $69,700 CAD to $90,200 per annum. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
