About the Role
VCV Digital is seeking a Director of Finance, Group Services to lead financial operations and shared finance services across the organization and its portfolio companies.
This individual will build scalable financial processes while maintaining accurate reporting, effective controls, and clear visibility across multiple legal entities and business lines. The role combines hands-on financial management with strategic leadership and requires someone who can move comfortably between detailed execution, cross-functional problem-solving, and executive-level decision support.
The Director will partner closely with group leadership, portfolio company executives, and internal finance teams to establish consistent standards while accommodating the distinct needs of each business.
Key Responsibilities
Group Financial Leadership
- Lead finance operations and shared financial services across VCV Digital and its portfolio companies.
- Establish a consistent group-wide framework for accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.
- Provide clear financial insights regarding group performance, cash requirements, investments, and operating risks.
- Support the development of the group’s finance organization as its portfolio and operational complexity grow.
Financial Reporting and Consolidation
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities.
- Manage consolidated financial reporting and ensure the appropriate treatment of intercompany transactions.
- Produce timely management reports, variance analyses, cash-flow forecasts, and executive dashboards.
- Improve the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial data across the group.
- Coordinate financial reporting requirements for operating companies, holding entities, and investment activities.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes across the group.
- Partner with department leaders and portfolio company executives to develop operational and financial plans.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Develop financial models supporting hiring, capital deployment, new business initiatives, and portfolio-company growth.
- Create allocation methodologies for shared costs and centralized services.
Accounting and Controls
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, approval structures, and internal controls across the organization.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management, treasury, payroll accounting, and general-ledger activities.
- Review balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve complex accounting matters.
- Strengthen financial governance while maintaining the speed and flexibility required in a growing organization.
Treasury and Cash Management
- Maintain group-wide visibility into cash balances, liquidity needs, and upcoming financial commitments.
- Develop short- and long-term cash-flow forecasts for the holding company and its portfolio businesses.
- Oversee banking relationships, payment controls, and authorized-signatory structures.
- Support capital calls, intercompany funding, debt obligations, and other financing activities.
- Recommend strategies to improve working capital and cash utilization.
Tax, Audit, and Compliance
- Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements.
- Serve as a primary finance contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external partners.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to maintain entity-level compliance across applicable jurisdictions.
- Support financial diligence, transaction readiness, and regulatory reporting as needed.
- Ensure supporting documentation and financial records are maintained to an audit-ready standard.
Portfolio and Transaction Support
- Support financial diligence for acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and other strategic transactions.
- Assist with financial modeling, valuation analysis, integration planning, and post-transaction reporting.
- Evaluate the financial performance and operational health of existing portfolio companies.
- Help establish finance functions, reporting structures, and controls for newly formed or acquired businesses.
- Partner with portfolio-company leadership to address financial and operational challenges.
Systems and Process Improvement
- Evaluate and improve the group’s financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows.
- Standardize core processes while determining where entity-specific practices remain necessary.
- Automate recurring reporting, reconciliations, and approval processes wherever practical.
- Support ERP, expense-management, payroll, banking, and business-intelligence implementations.
- Maintain reliable financial data and clear ownership across systems.
Team and Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members across shared services and portfolio companies.
- Establish clear responsibilities, service expectations, and performance standards.
- Collaborate with People Operations, Legal, Operations, Investment, and executive leadership.
- Communicate complex financial matters clearly to both financial and nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Manage external accountants, consultants, auditors, tax advisors, and other service provider
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA, or comparable professional qualification strongly preferred.
- Approximately 10 or more years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Experience managing finance across multiple entities, subsidiaries, portfolio companies, or business units.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and management reporting.
- Experience working within a holding company, venture studio, investment organization, private equity portfolio, or high-growth operating environment is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to international entities, intercompany accounting, and foreign-currency matters is advantageous.
- Experience supporting audits, tax compliance, financial diligence, or strategic transactions.
- Strong proficiency with accounting platforms, financial models, and reporting systems.

Compensation: CAD $130,00–$150,000
