Job Description
What your day might look like:
- The Procurement Agent is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for water and wastewater treatment system projects.
- As part of the Procurement team, you will work with a cross-functional team executing strategic purchasing decisions, meeting supplier quality standards, cost targets, and delivery schedules while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
- You will manage the complete procurement lifecycle from initial vendor identification through contract negotiation, purchase order management, and supplier relationship development.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying potential suppliers and vendors for project materials and equipment including pumps, blowers, valves, tanks, instrumentation, and fabrication services
- Preparing and issuing requests for quotations (RFQs) and analyzing bids to ensure competitive pricing and value
- Negotiating contracts and purchase agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery terms
- Creating and managing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy of specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining vendor scorecards based on quality, delivery, and service metrics
- Collaborating with Engineers, Project Managers, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure procurement specifications align with project requirements
- Tracking inventory levels and managing material availability to support project timelines
- Resolving procurement-related issues including expediting deliveries, managing backorders, and addressing quality concerns
- Engaging with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Commissioning teams) to facilitate timely and cost-effective procurement decisions
- Maintaining accurate procurement documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes
Qualifications
Our Ideal Candidate
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain, or Procurement
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Preferred: Ability to analyze data and create requested reports (Google Suite Applications)
- Full-time availability for 16 months starting September 2027

Compensation
- The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $21.63-$23.69 CAD
