Job Title: Data Center Technician / Fiber Technician
Location: British Columbia, Canada
Project Type: 6-12+ month contract (potential extension/renewal)
Pay Range: $25-55/hr. (negotiable based on experience and position)
Summary:
We are seeking experienced Data Center Technicians, Fiber Technicians/Splicers, and Technical Leads for a large-scale data center infrastructure project in British Columbia, Canada. This is a fast-paced, high-volume deployment across multiple technical disciplines. Candidates will support the construction, installation, and commissioning of structured cabling and data center infrastructure.
Positions Available:
- Data Center Technicians I & II
Data Center Technician I & II:
- 1-5+ years of experience with construction, cabling, electrical, low-voltage, or general technical experience preferred.
- Install and build data center infrastructure, including: Cable tray and ladder rack, Structured cabling, Fiber and copper cabling, Equipment racks and cabinets, and Pathways and cable management systems.
- Pull, route, dress, label, and secure cables according to project specifications.
- Assist with rack builds and equipment installation.
- Maintain proper cable separation, routing, and organization.
- Work from drawings, layouts, and field instructions.
Fiber Splicer/Fiber Technician:
- 2+ years of relevant data center, structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage experience preferred.
- Perform fiber installation, splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Install low-loss fiber links between racks and equipment.
- Maintain strict fiber bend-radius requirements during installation and routing.
Technical Lead:
- 5+ years of relevant data center, fiber, structured cabling, or telecommunications experience preferred.
- Lead teams performing fiber, structured cabling, tray, ladder rack, and rack installation.
- Review drawings and determine practical installation approaches.
- Coordinate daily work activities and crew assignments.
- Ensure installations meet quality and project standards.
