Systems Testing / QA Specialist - Senior
Position Overview
VStream Labs Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to provide end-to-end quality assurance for a cloud-based agricultural information system comprising a Java web application and an Esri GIS field-data solution. The consultant will plan, execute, document, and report testing across the complete delivery lifecycle.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid: onsite two days per week in Toronto or Guelph, Ontario.
- Contract term: November 2, 2026 to March 31, 2027, with possible extensions.
- No security clearance is currently required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, scenarios, cases, scripts, test data, and reporting artifacts.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, API, accessibility, and usability testing.
- Test cloud applications built with Java, JSON, RESTful web services, and HTML5.
- Identify, document, prioritize, track, retest, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Validate business and technical requirements, support debugging, and recommend improvements to quality and usability.
- Conduct AODA accessibility testing using appropriate tools.
- Use Azure DevOps, Postman, and related QA tools to manage test execution and evidence.
- Validate integrations with Esri ArcGIS, Survey123, REST APIs, geospatial services, and mapping applications.
- Apply privacy, security, confidentiality, governance, and public-sector technology standards.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of QA and software-testing experience across Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall SDLC environments.
- Hands-on testing of cloud-based Java applications using JSON, RESTful web services, and HTML5.
- Demonstrated experience creating complete testing strategies, plans, cases, scripts, execution evidence, and reports.
- Strong defect-management, debugging-support, requirements-validation, and usability-testing experience.
- Experience with AODA accessibility testing and related tools.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Postman.
- Excellent analytical, communication, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder-collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Testing experience with agricultural, environmental, land, or soil-management systems.
- Experience testing Esri ArcGIS, Survey123, geospatial services, and mapping integrations.
- Experience using approved AI-assisted QA tools.
- Public-sector or broader-public-sector delivery experience.
