Role Description The Director role at Eclipse Automation is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Metropolitan Area. This role oversees strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of automation projects, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and safety standards. The Director leads and mentors cross-functional teams, aligns engineering, operations, and customer needs, and manages resources and budgets to deliver projects on time and within scope. Daily responsibilities include setting departmental objectives, reviewing project progress, engaging with key clients and stakeholders, resolving technical and operational issues, and driving process optimization and innovation. The Director also contributes to business development initiatives, supports long-term growth plans, and promotes a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience directing cross-functional engineering or operations teams in an automation or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability in strategic planning, project governance, and performance management, including setting goals, tracking metrics, and driving continuous improvement.
- Background in factory automation, precision machinery, or industrial systems integration, with solid understanding of manufacturing processes and reliability requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated capability in budget management, resource planning, and risk assessment for complex technical projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are an asset.
- Experience working in sectors such as medical devices, energy, transportation, food, or consumer products is beneficial.
