Role Description
Warren Sinclair LLP is looking to hire a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal with experience in corporate, commercial real estate and bank financing matters.
The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of prior work in a law firm as a legal assistant/paralegal in the above-mentioned areas. Experience with the following: commercial bank financing documents (acting on both the lender and borrower side); preparing and registering security; and commercial/agricultural real estate experience. The chosen applicant will work as part of a team and will have a counterpart paralegal working in the same area of law. The ideal candidate we are looking for will have a Corporate Registry System (“CORES”) certified (Level 1). Experience with Netdocuments and Acumin is desired. This position requires someone who has strong communication skills, is able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines, and who understands the importance and sensitivity of dealing with highly confidential matters. Qualifications
- Strong foundation in law-related knowledge and an understanding of commercial and corporate legal processes.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and managing document versions.
- Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Experience in administrative assistance within a professional office setting, including scheduling, file management, and data entry.
- Prior experience as a legal assistant or in a similar legal support role, preferably in commercial or corporate practice.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with legal practice management software and common office applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, and document management tools).
- Diploma or certificate in legal assistant studies or a related field is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse team members and maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
