PASS – Senior Financial Analyst
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

General Description Of Duties
Reporting to the Manager of Budget and Financial Reporting, this challenging position will be responsible for:
- Preparation of the complex salary and benefits budget for the board ensuring compliance with various collective agreements and Ministry requirements
- Monthly budget monitoring, variance analysis, projections, financial reporting (key performance indicators)
- Preparation of quarterly forecasting including salary and benefit forecasting
- Working with budget holders to assist with budget monitoring and support re: financial processes
- Research and analyze historical and emerging trends for budgeting purposes as well as investigate industry standards and best practices
- Research, analyze and report on specialized projects, assignments and reports as needed
- Responsible for organizing and scheduling annual budget report
- Assist with year end audit preparation
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or degree in a business-related field
- Professional accounting designation or actively pursuing a designation
- 3+ years experience in a similar role with a Canadian institution
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
- Advanced excel and analytical skills with the ability to manage deadlines while working independently
- Excellent written and oral communication
Desirable Assets
- School board or other public sector experience
- Diploma in School Board Administration
- Working knowledge of the Ministry of Education funding
- Working knowledge of payroll and collective agreements
- Knowledge of MS Business Central (Navision) and ISYS software applications
Salary Range: Level 6, $85,250.13 - $100,294.98 per year in accordance with the provisions of the PASS Terms of Employment
Hours of Work: Full-time, 35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year
Location(s): Catholic Education Centre, 35 Weber Street West, Unit A, Kitchener, Ontario
OnSite Work Requirements: The successful incumbent is to be available to work on-site Monday to Friday.
