About the Role
We are looking for a Meeting Room Programmer to join our End User Computing Services team. In this role, you will design, develop, configure, test, and support programming solutions for modern meeting rooms and collaboration environments.
You will work with Q-SYS, Crestron, and Cisco technologies to create intuitive, reliable, and consistent user experiences. Your work will include control-system programming, audio DSP configuration, user-interface development, system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Working closely with Service Delivery Managers, designers, project managers, installers, service technicians, and client IT teams, you will help deliver meeting room solutions that meet technical requirements and client expectations.
This position may involve travel throughout Western Canada to support system commissioning, complex troubleshooting, upgrades, and client projects.
What You Will Do
- Develop, configure, test, and maintain programming for meeting rooms, boardrooms, divisible spaces, training rooms, and other collaboration environments.
- Program and commission Q-SYS control and audio solutions, including DSP configuration, control logic, user interfaces, and third-party integrations.
- Develop and maintain Crestron control-system programs and touch-panel interfaces using applicable Crestron development tools.
- Configure and integrate Cisco collaboration devices, including RoomOS settings, macros, user-interface extensions, and xAPI-based integrations.
- Integrate meeting room components such as displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, audio processors, lighting controls, shades, occupancy sensors, and scheduling panels.
- Develop clear, intuitive, and consistent user interfaces that make meeting room technology easy to operate.
- Review system designs, scopes of work, drawings, signal-flow diagrams, equipment lists, and client requirements before programming begins.
- Collaborate with designers and installation teams to confirm that system functionality aligns with the approved design and intended user experience.
- Complete system commissioning, functional testing, audio tuning, control verification, and final quality-assurance checks.
- Troubleshoot programming, audio, video, control, network, and device-communication issues both remotely and onsite.
- Support Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco Webex, Zoom Rooms, and other collaboration platforms as required.
- Modify and upgrade existing programs while maintaining system stability, compatibility, and established programming standards.
- Create and maintain source-code files, programming documentation, release notes, configuration records, user guides, and system backups.
- Provide technical support and guidance to installers, service technicians, Meeting Room Concierges, and client IT teams.
- Participate in client demonstrations, system handovers, user training, and technical discussions.
- Identify opportunities to improve programming standards, reusable code libraries, testing processes, system reliability, and the overall client experience.
- Stay current with manufacturer platforms, firmware releases, programming tools, cybersecurity practices, and emerging collaboration technologies.
