We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Residential Plumbing Estimator to join us at Weiss-Johnson Mechanical. The Plumbing Estimator plays a critical role in the pre-plumbing process by analyzing project requirements and preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for plumbing systems in residential projects. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure bids are timely, complete, and aligned with project specifications.

Salary range: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per annum, based on experience and education.
Key Contributions in This Role
- Assist and direct estimating staff in all its functions such as preparing quotes and maintain accurate records
- Assist and solve estimation matters
- Supervise timely completion of all work in the department
- As new jobs arrive, assess the type of quote required, the client and the closing date of the tender, and determine prioritization of the quote
- Maintain sound and cooperative working relationships with existing customers
- Actively promote the organization & services offered by the company within the industry
- Maintain & foster relationships with referral sources and other business contacts
Who We’re Looking For
- Plumbing experience required. A Journeyperson ticket is an asset.
- Minimum 4 years of working as an estimator or junior estimator in residential construction.
- Deep knowledge of residential plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, gas lines, and venting.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates, deadlines, and changing project scopes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of local building codes and plumbing regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret residential blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
- Accuracy in measurements, quantities, and cost calculations is critical.
- Ability to identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and project efficiencies.
- Clear communication with stakeholders to ensures smooth project bidding and delivery. And has confidence in negotiating prices with vendors and subcontractors.
- Ability to multitask and flexibility to switch between quotes/projects, meet deadlines.
- Trade Certification (e.g., plumbing license or certification) is an asset.
- Estimating Software Proficiency: Skilled with industry tools like PlanSwift, QuickBooks, Excel, Bluebeam, or similar.
