The Security Lead Hand will play a critical role in fostering a safe, secure, and productive work environment while supporting the continued success and growth of the Madsen Mine. This position operates on a 14-days-on, 14-days-off rotational schedule.

About the Candidate:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in mining, industrial security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience managing teams in a remote or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of security operations, access control systems, emergency response procedures, and incident management.
- Valid security license
- Proficient computer skills with experience using software applications for reporting, record management, scheduling, and documentation.
- Experience with health and safety programs, training systems, or emergency preparedness programs is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively deliver training and communicate with individuals and groups in both classroom and field environments.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification is required.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Security Coordinator the Security Lead Hand is responsible for leading the Security Services team and overseeing site security programs, access control systems, emergency response support, and security-related procedures. This position will ensure the protection of personnel, property, and assets while supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Ensure all security activities are conducted in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), applicable regulations, and company policies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols that align with operational objectives, industry best practices, and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate and conduct fitness-for-duty and drug and alcohol testing programs, ensuring compliance with Company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Lead, mentor, train, and supervise security personnel to ensure consistent and effective site security coverage.
- Manage site access control systems and oversee security processes for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Coordinate and support emergency response activities, including first aid response, personnel escorts, fit-for-work support, and incident management.
- Schedule and oversee security patrols to protect company assets and safeguard against theft, vandalism, fire, and other security risks.
- Support the resolution of complex workplace conflicts and security-related incidents.
- Maintain and monitor security control room systems, surveillance equipment, and related security technologies.
- Ensure established emergency response and safety procedures are followed and respond appropriately to alarms, incidents, injuries, threats, and other emergencies.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update radio communication and emergency notification procedures.
- Assist with investigations involving security incidents, policy violations, or workplace concerns.
- Support the continued evolution of the security function as operational requirements expand with mine growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
