About the role
We are seeking a Forklift Operator / General Labourer to support our residential construction sites. This role focuses primarily on operating a telehandler to receive deliveries, move materials, and keep our site teams supplied throughout the day. When equipment operation is not required, you will assist with basic framing, general construction tasks, and site organization.
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, you will work closely with foremen, carpenters, trades, and delivery personnel. Equipment experience, an understanding of construction site hazards, and the ability to plan and prioritize your work are essential for success in this role.
Hourly Pay Range: $19.50 - $27.00/hr (Based on experience)

What you’ll be doing

Operate a telehandler to unload deliveries and safely move materials around the site and to designated building levels.

Complete daily equipment inspections and report defects or safety concerns.

Participate in morning team briefings and complete daily job hazard assessments.

Coordinate with the site team to prioritize deliveries and material movements.

Organize lumber storage and laydown areas to support efficient access to materials.

Follow safe loading, lifting, placement, and unloading procedures.

Assist site carpenters and foremen with basic framing, back framing, and other construction tasks.

Perform general construction labour, cleanup, and site organization.

Work at heights as required, using appropriate protective equipment and following site procedures.

Assist in maintaining the Occupational Health and Safety program.
What we’re looking for
-
Minimum two years of construction experience.

Previous experience operating machinery or equipment, with a strong preference for telehandler experience.

Experience operating a telehandler for a general contractor or framing contractor is particularly valuable.

Experience with skid steers, loaders, excavators, or farm equipment is an asset.

Telehandler training or certification is an asset; willingness to complete required training is essential.

Aerial lift certification or experience and fall protection training are assets.

Grade 12 diploma.

Basic construction knowledge, including the ability to read a measuring tape and recognize site hazards.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.

Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.

Valid driver’s licence.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
