Original job description

Company Description Westcoast Roofing Systems Ltd., founded in 1982, specializes in protecting homes, strata buildings, and commercial properties across Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Operating in one of Canada’s wettest regions, the company brings decades of expertise in roofing systems, leak investigation, skylights, chimneys, and building envelopes designed to withstand challenging weather. Westcoast Roofing Systems Ltd. is a GAF Master Elite contractor (top 2% in North America) and holds multiple industry certifications, including Cedar Shake and Shingle Bureau, Siplast, Elevate, and liquid applied PMMA systems, along with long-standing BBB A+ accreditation. The team focuses on listening carefully to clients, explaining options clearly, installing to manufacturer warranty standards, and thoroughly documenting each job. The company proudly serves communities including Burnaby, Vancouver, Richmond, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Lions Bay, Victoria, and Duncan.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Salesperson role based in North Vancouver, BC. The Salesperson will engage prospective and existing residential, strata, and commercial clients, conduct site visits, and prepare detailed roofing, skylight, chimney, and building envelope estimates. Daily responsibilities include responding to inquiries, assessing customer needs, explaining service options and product choices, and presenting clear, accurate proposals. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with clients, following up on leads, coordinating with project managers and crews, and ensuring that projects are scheduled and communicated effectively. The Salesperson will also support marketing initiatives, contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes, and uphold the company’s standards of honesty, safety, and quality service.

Qualifications

Proven sales and customer relationship skills, including lead follow-up, consultative selling, and closing techniques.
Experience or strong interest in construction or roofing-related services, with the ability to understand and explain basic roofing, leak investigation, skylight, chimney, and building envelope concepts.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, present options clearly, and document estimates and job details accurately.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple site visits, proposals, and follow-ups in a fast-paced environment.
Comfort working on-site at residential, strata, and commercial locations, including occasional ladder use and outdoor work, following all safety guidelines.
Basic computer and CRM skills for preparing quotes, maintaining records, and tracking leads and opportunities.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to customer sites in North Vancouver and surrounding areas.
Previous sales experience in roofing, construction, or home services is an asset; knowledge of local Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island markets is beneficial.
Ability to work collaboratively
