We are seeking experienced Cooks to join the culinary team at The Victor at Parq Casino!

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Blau & Associates oversees the Food and Beverage operations at Parq Casino including the Victor. Victor represents the ultimate in a classic North American Steak & Seafood experience. The Victor features a contemporary and seasonally inspired menu highlighting a wide array of Pacific Northwest seafood and a tiered selection of specialty steaks. An elegant bar offers premium libations, cutting edge cocktails, and an extensive selection of champagnes and wines. The Victor boasts a vibrant energy that echoes and amplifies the vitality of the city of Vancouver, overlooking False Creek and a 30,000 square foot rooftop urban park. We are looking for YOU to join our team.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Culinary Team Cooks are primarily responsible for the preparation, assembly and cooking of food items for a specific kitchen station. The Cooks assist with inventory and ordering for their particular station and with the cleanliness and organization of the entire kitchen. The Cooks will promote the Parq Casino facility and act as a positive role model and representative of Blau & Associates.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cook is responsible for:

Working collaboratively with other Team Members and Departments to ensure the kitchen and outlets operate in accordance with established operational procedures
Proper set-up, maintenance and adherence to scheduled duties, ensuring mise-en-place and par stock are maintained for all position-related items, conducting regular inventory and ordering products as required
Regularly inspecting food and supplies to ensure proper product rotation and safe food preparation and storage standards are maintained
Preparing, assembling and cooking menu items for an assigned kitchen station while maintaining Honey Salt's quality and presentation standards
Following established sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized workstation and assisting with the cleaning of the overall kitchen and service areas
Maintaining a composed and professional demeanor while working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Being knowledgeable of menu items, seasonal features, menu and operational changes and communicating information as appropriate
Protecting the organization, guests and co-workers by adhering to applicable food safety, workplace safety and operational standards, as well as statutory compliance requirements
Ensuring that all property, furnishings, equipment and supplies are used according to proper instructions and intended use
All other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or their designated representative

QUALIFICATIONS

The Cook must:

Have at least 2 years of experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary environment, including a hotel, restaurant, catering operation or other fast-paced, high-volume establishment
Have a valid FoodSafe Level 1 certificate; a Red Seal certificate would be considered an asset
Have an excellent command of both spoken and written English
Have a solid understanding of a variety of cuisines, cooking techniques and food preparation methods
Have strong product knowledge and the ability to effectively handle inquiries related to menu items, dietary restrictions, food sensitivities and allergy requirements
Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Manage inventory and ensure proper product use to minimize waste and spillage
Be passionate about quality ingredients, fresh and seasonal cooking, and delivering consistently high-quality food
