The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics (Lazaridis School) at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Business Technology Management (BTM) program, commencing July 1, 2027. The position may involve teaching at both the Brantford and Milton campuses and is subject to budgetary approval.
Anticipated Salary Range: $110,000 to $160,000. The successful candidate’s salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applicants should hold a PhD, or be near completion of a doctorate, in Management with a specialization in Information Systems (MIS), technology and innovation management, or a related management discipline such as strategic management, organizational theory, operations management, or data analytics. Possessing significant technical experience or holding a relevant undergraduate or master’s degree in computer science or engineering will be considered an asset.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional research potential, including a demonstrated ability to publish in top-tier journals in the field and to develop and sustain a highly productive research agenda.
Priority will be given to applicants who can effectively apply management theories to high-technology industries and engage business students in technology-focused courses. Preference will be given to those who have experience teaching cases and using other innovative experiential learning methods in the classroom. The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen the BTM area’s teaching expertise and capabilities and to collaborate effectively with colleagues in the ongoing development of curricula and teaching materials.
The successful candidate will also be expected to make exceptional service contributions to the BTM area and the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics. This includes an established capacity to contribute to the development of experiential learning opportunities for BTM students and to support the program through accreditation processes.
