Job Summary
Windsor-Essex is embarking on one of the most exciting chapters in its history with the formal approval to construct a new state-of-the-art acute care hospital for the region. The Fancsy Family Hospital will transform healthcare for the Windsor-Essex community for generations to come. The capital campaign for the Fancsy Family Hospital will be the largest fundraising effort in our community’s history.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports the Manager, Marketing and Communications and the broader Foundation team to advance fundraising goals, enhance brand visibility and engage donors. This multi-faceted role blends content creation, writing and essential event/administrative support. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and tech-savvy content creator who can seamlessly pivot from drafting a media release to designing social media graphics, updating the website or assisting with Foundation events.

Responsibilities
DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT (40%)
- Content Creation: Develop and publish engaging copy and visual content (e.g., graphics, videos, Reels) for Foundation communications channels, including social media, website, digital donor wall, e-newsletters, ads and more.
- Account Administration: Monitor social media channels, engage with followers and oversee/update page aesthetics.
- Website Maintenance: Oversee routine content updates to the Foundation website, ensuring information, donor stories and event pages are accurate and visually appealing.
- Ad Campaign Support: Track advertising creative deadlines and ensure asset delivery to external media partners.
- Trends & Reporting: Stay abreast of industry trends and submit periodic communications reports on analytics across communications channels.
WRITING & MARKETING MATERIALS (40%)
- Writing: Develop written materials to support the Foundation’s various programs and events, including social media copy, media releases, speaking notes, webpage content, e-newsletters, an annual Gratitude Report, Cases for Support and more.
- Marketing Materials:
- Develop branded templates for materials such as social media graphics, e-newsletters and slide deck presentations.
- Create and refresh Foundation marketing materials as needed, including brochures, posters, Cases for Support and more. Coordinate as needed with external vendors for design and printing.
- Oversee inventory of swag and branded collateral, ensuring it is properly labelled, organized and replenished.
ADMINISTRATIVE & EVENT SUPPORT (20%)
- Email Monitoring: Monitor Foundation’s email inbox, responding to and directing questions appropriately. Track inquiries and build out the Foundation’s FAQs document.
- Digital Asset Organization: Maintain an organized digital filing system for marketing and communications folders, including annual photography, ad content, digital donor wall assets, media releases, media coverage and more.
- Event Support: Assist in creation of event materials and attend Foundation events as needed to assist with set-up, tear-down and playback of audiovisual materials

- Maintaining and promoting a safe and clean working environment for all employees, students, visitors, patients/clients, family members and physicians and fulfilling the duties of workers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience working in communications, marketing, fundraising or adjacent fields.
- Exceptional writing skills with experience writing, editing and proofreading across a broad range of communications materials.
- Strong understanding and experience implementing brand guidelines to create polished, branded communications materials.
- Demonstrated consistency in producing high-quality communications materials.
- Able to produce high-quality graphic designs and videos, with experience in platforms such as Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro or similar.
- Experience using communications platforms like MailChimp, Constant Contact or similar to create and schedule e-blasts – ideally to large audiences.
- Proven track record in successfully managing and growing business social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Knowledge of and prior experience using analytics tools, including in-platform tools on social media and Google Analytics an asset.
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/NXT an asset but not required.
- This position requires occasional attendance/participation at events in the evening or on weekends.
