Wolfhead Distillery is an artisanal craft distillery located in beautiful Amherstburg, Ontario. We pride ourselves on producing premium, award-winning spirits and creating distinct flavor profiles. We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and hardworking individual to join our production team as a Distillery Operations Technician.
Position Overview
Working directly under the Head Distiller, you will support daily spirits production, with a heavy focus on bottling line operations, blending, inventory management, and warehousing. This is a physical, hands-on role requiring active problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and a strong adherence to safety and quality protocols
Key Responsibilities
- Bottling Line Operations
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify mechanical or operational line issues as they arise and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
- Line Changeovers: Perform efficient, timely, and accurate changeovers on the bottling line between different product runs.
- Spirits Blending: Assist with blending operations on days when bottling is not scheduled.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory and organization of dry supplies and finished goods.
- Inventory Counts: Actively participate in scheduled monthly physical inventory counts for all materials and finished goods stock.
- Data Entry: Maintain production records and perform accurate data entry into our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Create, update, and maintain SOPs for bottling line changeovers and daily operations.
- Logistics Support: Safely assist with shipping and receiving tasks in the warehouse.
- General Duties: Execute other distillery and production tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Valid Forklift License is mandatory.
- Experience: Proven experience in warehousing, logistics, and inventory management.
- Quality Control Asset: Prior experience in Quality Control (QC) or quality assurance is considered a strong asset.
- Industry Asset: Experience within a commercial distilling, brewing, or fermentation environment is considered a strong asset.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods of time and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Technical Skills: Strong mathematical skills, an attention to detail.
- Legal Requirement: Must be of legal drinking age in Ontario (19+) to assist with quality control and sensory tasting protocols.
