Primary Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance
- Complete scheduled inspections and maintenance on motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and facility equipment.
- Communicate preventive maintenance needs and findings to Operations to reduce downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
Equipment Diagnosis
- Identify mechanical issues by observing machinery in operation and using diagnostic tools and technical references to determine the root causes of failures.
Mechanical Component Repair and Rebuilding
- Safely dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment according to lockout/tagout procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect and replace worn or damaged parts to restore equipment to full function.
Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting
- Apply mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting methods to resolve equipment issues.
- Recommend long-term corrective solutions that help prevent recurring problems.
Part Fabrication and Modification
- Use shop tools, including welders, grinders, and drills, to fabricate or modify repair parts as needed.
- Ensure all components meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
Parts and Supplies Inventory Management
- Monitor and replenish parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Keep the shop and storage areas organized, clean, and properly labeled.
Maintenance Documentation
- Accurately record maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair details in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Communicate recurring issues and equipment needs to supervisors.
Workplace Safety and Compliance
- Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Proactively maintain clean, hazard-free work areas to support overall safety performance.
Operational and Cross-Functional Support
- Assist with equipment startups, adjustments, and troubleshooting during production.
- Provide basic technical guidance to operators and collaborate with Operations on repair prioritization.
- Support emergency repairs, seasonal facility projects, and other assigned tasks.
- Work extended or adjusted hours as needed to meet operational demands.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with work order updates, purchasing needs, documentation, and team communication.
- Participate in meetings and provide maintenance status updates as required.

- Perform other duties as required or assigned by the manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of three years of maintenance experience, ideally in a distribution center or industrial environment.
Preferred Certifications
- Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Welding
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT)
- Ability to obtain applicable certifications
Technical Competencies
- Mechanical Aptitude: Understands mechanical principles and can effectively diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to twist, stoop, squat, bend frequently, and reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements using hands and feet simultaneously.
- Ability to work at elevated heights as required by assigned tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Due to the warehouse’s open environment, employees must be able to work in varying weather and temperature conditions.
