Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time, on-site role located in Waterloo, ON. This role oversees all accounting and financial reporting activities, including preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the general ledger, monitoring cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis. The Financial Controller will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, while coordinating with external auditors and advisors. The role also involves supporting leadership with financial insights, optimizing financial processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making for multiple hospitality properties.
Qualifications
- Strong finance background, with skills in Finance and Financial Reporting.
- Expertise in Accounting and the preparation of Financial Statements.
- Solid Analytical Skills for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset.
- Experience in hospitality, real estate, or multi-entity environments is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and maintain high ethical standards.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
