The Opportunity
Help Shape Responsible Resource Development
Build your permitting and regulatory expertise while contributing to mining and resource projects that balance environmental stewardship, community interests, and sustainable development.
As a Junior Mine Permitting Specialist, you will work under the guidance of experienced permitting and regulatory professionals, collaborating with environmental scientists, engineers, and technical specialists. You will support environmental assessments, regulatory applications, research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and field activities while developing the practical consulting skills needed to contribute across the project lifecycle.

Your Impact
- Support project teams in interpreting permitting and regulatory requirements for mining and resource development projects.
- Contribute to regulatory approval applications, environmental assessment documents, technical reports, and supporting materials that enable informed decisions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists to integrate environmental, social, and technical information into clear, defensible project submissions.
- Produce well-organized research, environmental data, and regulatory information that strengthen project planning and delivery.
- Support respectful engagement with clients, Indigenous communities, regulators, and other stakeholders under the guidance of senior team members.
- Participate safely in field visits and site inspections.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, geography, sustainability, natural resource management, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, permitting, regulatory approvals, environmental assessment, mining, or resource development; related co-op, internship, research, or academic project experience is valued.
- An interest in environmental permitting, impact assessment, regulatory processes, and sustainable resource development, supported by familiarity with provincial and federal environmental legislation.
- Ability to research, organize, analyze, and communicate environmental and technical information using Microsoft Office applications and data management tools.
- Exposure to mining, water management, reclamation, biodiversity, or Indigenous engagement concepts, with the ability to learn from multidisciplinary teams and manage concurrent deadlines.
- A commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship, along with a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally for project and field work.

Compensation
- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $69,700 - $92,300
- MB & ON: $63,600 - $87,500
- NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $62,900 - $83,600
