Xpera is looking for a talented, relationship-driven Recruiter to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity based in Calgary, Alberta. This is a dual-role position supporting our Western Canada operations, with the primary focus on recruitment, candidate vetting, and onboarding, complemented by administrative and operational support responsibilities.
As a key member of the Operations team, you will partner closely with leaders across the business to understand hiring needs, attract qualified talent, coordinate the recruitment and selection process, and deliver exceptional candidate experience. You will work collaboratively with various internal stakeholders at all levels to ensure the organization’s staffing needs are met effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with candidates, employees, management, and external stakeholders.
In addition to recruitment responsibilities, you will provide day-to-day administrative, clerical, data entry, and reception support to help maintain efficient operations. This includes maintaining accurate employee and recruitment records, preparing and organizing documentation, responding to inquiries, assisting employees and management with administrative needs, and providing reception coverage as required.
You will play an important role in supporting both the growth of our teams and the effective delivery of Western Canada operations.
What You Will Do:
- Partner with hiring managers and Human Resources (HR) to understand workforce needs, priorities, and hiring requirements across our Western Canada operations.
- Recruit, screen, and vet candidates for a variety of divisions, roles, and projects, ensuring we connect the right people with the right opportunities.
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process, preparing new hire packages and ensuring employees have the equipment, clothing, and resources they need to be successful from day one.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee and recruitment records, ensuring documentation is organized, up to date, and handled with discretion.
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Operations team, including a variety of tasks and priorities as required.
- Scan, organize, email, record, and maintain accurate electronic and physical files of daily materials and documentation.
- Support Operations team members by responding to questions, providing assistance, and gathering additional information as needed.
- Provide reception coverage as required, including greeting and assisting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, and responding to general inquiries.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives that support the broader Operations and HR teams.
- Jump in where needed and take on other responsibilities or projects as directed by your leader, contributing to a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
What You Will Bring:
- A post-secondary education is preferred, particularly in related fields such as Administration, Logistics, Research, Human Resources, or similar disciplines with experience in the private and/or public sector. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role would be an asset.
- Previous experience working in the security or investigations industry is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives, evaluate options, and identify effective solutions.
- High level of discretion and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with care and sound judgment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and prepare detailed, comprehensive reports and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple tasks, and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technology and digital literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio, as well as the ability to navigate online data and information resources.
