Opportunity
The Director, Talent will report to the President of the Firm. The person will be responsible for full-cycle recruitment, including candidate and Client management, supporting mandates in Toronto and nationally. The Director, Talent will effectively own the recruitment function from inception to completion. The successful incumbent must possess strong interpersonal skills to recruit viable candidates for roles across multiple industries. The capacity to manage Clients and candidates independently will be crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for the full-cycle recruitment function includes:
- Often the first point of contact for Clients; professionally address inquiries of current and potential Clients; liaise with Senior Executives and corresponding personnel in order to foster strong relationships, build trust and maintain open communication.
- Attend, participate and, in some cases, lead the initial in-take call or meeting with new or existing Clients.
- Manage presentation material for Clients on an as needed basis; developing job descriptions, creating summaries of the search mandate, producing Candidate profiles, and short-list bio of viable Candidates.
- Working closely with the Research team in order to ensure a thorough market landscape of potential candidates for each mandate responsible for.
- Connecting with targeted Candidates.
- Responsible for the screening and preliminary interviews.
- Responsible for Candidate management throughout the recruitment process.
- Coordinating interviews between Clients and Candidates.
- Making recommendations to Clients regarding Candidate progression, compensation ranges, role responsibilities, etc.
- Effectively manage Client and Candidate during offer stage.
- Flexible in executing multiple tasks and projects in a timely and efficient manner; comfortable working with ambiguity and shifts in priorities.
Key Qualifications
- 5 – 10 years of experience, preferably in a recruitment firm.
- Post-secondary education; College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree is required.
- Strong executive presence and previous experience working directly with Senior Management and the C-suite is preferred.
- Demonstrated business professionalism, respect for confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive Clients and Candidate information.
- Exceptional organizational and technical skills.
- Detail-oriented and resourceful in completing projects; ability to effectively multi-task with competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Highly trustworthy, possesses sound judgment, ethical standards and discretion.
