Nature & Scope:
Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, the Director, Marketing Campaigns and Performance provides strategic leadership for YMCA BC's marketing campaigns, with a primary focus on Health, Fitness & Aquatics and Philanthropy. The role is accountable for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive membership growth, program participation, fundraising success, and brand awareness while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and measurable business outcomes.
The Director leads a team of marketing professionals and oversees campaign planning, project management, performance marketing, and analytics functions. Working closely with internal and external partners, the position establishes consistent campaign management processes, optimizes digital marketing investments, and uses data-driven insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness across the organization.
Major Responsibilities: - in this position, you will:
- Lead the strategic planning, development, execution, and evaluation of YMCA BC's priority marketing campaigns, with a primary focus on the Health, Fitness & Aquatics and Philanthropy portfolios, ensuring campaigns align with organizational goals and deliver measurable results.
- Build and champion a consistent organizational approach to marketing campaign planning and project management across all portfolios, establishing tools, processes, governance, status reporting, and campaign review practices that improve cross-functional coordination and execution.
- Optimize YMCA BC's digital marketing and paid media investments across channels by leveraging performance data, audience insights, and business priorities to maximize return on investment, engagement, lead generation, and conversion outcomes.
- Oversee end-to-end campaign management for priority portfolios, guiding campaigns from discovery and strategic planning through creative development, implementation, launch, monitoring, and post-campaign analysis.
- Measure and evaluate campaign performance against both marketing metrics and business objectives, including audience reach, engagement, lead generation, membership targets, retention, revenue growth, participation levels, and fundraising outcomes, translating findings into actionable recommendations and continuous improvement strategies.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of campaign-focused Marketing Managers and a Performance Marketing & Analytics Lead, fostering accountability, collaboration, strong project management discipline, and high-performance execution from planning through delivery.
- Facilitate regular marketing alignment and planning meetings with portfolio leaders and key stakeholders to identify priorities, assess emerging needs, and recommend adjustments to marketing strategies, resources, and investment to support organizational objectives.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure marketing campaigns are integrated, audience-focused, delivered on schedule and budget, and aligned with YMCA BC's brand standards and strategic priorities.
Qualification: -you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in campaign and digital marketing, including agency/account management or complex in-house marketing environments.
- 2–3 years of leadership experience, with a proven ability to coach teams, manage projects, and drive results.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-channel marketing campaigns from strategy and planning through execution, optimization, and performance reporting.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to establish campaign planning processes, manage competing priorities, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver multiple initiatives on time and within budget.
- Strong expertise in digital marketing, paid media management, web analytics, audience segmentation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Proven ability to build processes, prioritize competing initiatives, allocate resources effectively, and influence senior stakeholders in a complex organization.
- Experience within a membership-based, participation-driven, nonprofit, charitable, or fundraising environment is considered an asset.
- Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
