Description
You've built a book. Now build a practice that grows.
You've earned your clients' trust, and you know how to manage money. What you may not have is the support around you: planners bringing you integrated relationships, an operations team handling the back office, and a firm whose investment approach you'd be proud to put your name to.
Q Wealth is looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager (or an Associate Portfolio Manager) working toward full registration) to join one of our Saskatoon partners. This role is for someone who already has an established client base and wants to spend their time advising clients and managing portfolios, with a firm behind them that helps the practice grow.
Why QWealth
- Fiduciary from the ground up. We're a portfolio management firm, so acting in the client's best interest is the legal standard we work to.
- Planning-led relationships. You'll work alongside our Financial Planners and Wealth Advisors. Investment strategy is built into each client's full financial picture, and that integration brings in new relationships.
- A real investment voice. Our PMs sit on the investment committee and its sub-committees. You'll help shape how the firm invests, not just carry out a model.
- Infrastructure that frees up your time. Portfolio oversight runs on d1g1t, with operations and compliance support behind you, so you spend more of your day with clients and less on administration.
- Transition support. Onboarding support for transitioning clients, dedicated ops help during the move.
- A long-term path. We're building our Saskatoon presence and want someone who can grow into a leadership role as the team expands.
What You'll Do
- Lead Know Your Client meetings, set appropriate mandates and investment policies, and meet all fiduciary obligations, with clear, complete documentation throughout.
- Build long-term, trusting relationships with clients, and communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and the wider team.
- Build asset mixes that fit each client's mandate, needs and restrictions, and keep portfolios within Mandate/IPS ranges through daily oversight in d1g1t.
- Complete KYC updates and suitability reviews for every client at least once every 12 months, documenting any exceptions.
- Answer client and advisor questions that need real analytical depth on markets, the economy, products and portfolio performance.
- Partner with each client's Financial Planner or Wealth Advisor so investment strategy and planning goals work together.
- Contribute to the investment committee and sub-committees.
- Resolve issues constructively when they come up, and take on other duties that call for an Advising Representative.
What You Bring
- Registration as an Advising Representative, or eligibility for Associate Advising Representative registration with a clear path to full PM registration (CFA® charter or CIM® designation
- A fiduciary mindset and a genuine commitment to putting clients first.
- Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues alike.
- Interest in contributing to firm-wide investment decisions.
