About the Role:
The Dental Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of a dental practice by managing front desk activities and serving as the first point of contact for patients. The Dental Receptionist is responsible for maintaining patient records, posting payments, and coordinating communication between patients and dental staff. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a receptionist or administrative assistant, preferably in a dental or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and insurance claim procedures.
- Proficiency in using office software and dental practice management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual abilities mandatory: French and English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in dental office administration or related field.
- Experience with Canadian dental insurance plans and billing practices.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations related to patient information (e.g., PIPEDA).
- Ability to handle heavy phone usage in a professional and courteous manner.
- Bilingual abilities mandatory: French and English
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule dental appointments using office management software.
- Answer high volumes of phone calls promptly, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
- Process insurance claims accurately, verify patient insurance coverage, and follow up on claim status.
- Post payments and handle billing tasks, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
- Maintain and update patient records, including dental terminology and treatment details.
- Operate office equipment such as copy machines and manage correspondence.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely communication of dental services.
