The Role:
The Maintenance Technician provides support to the Calgary facility, keeping the machinery functioning as it is intended to maximize up-time. This person plays a key role in ensuring that ABT effectively and efficiently produces product safely, on time, and meeting customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repair of all Calgary production/plant equipment
- Oversee and Perform maintenance and mechanical repairs for assigned buildings and related facilities, furnishings, and equipment. The required duties may include maintenance of machinery, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC maintenance, and other related work
- Trouble-shoot and perform maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
- Clean and lubricate machinery, perform basic diagnostic tests, check the performance of the machine, and test damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.
- Review and follow technical and complex machinery manuals
- Work with equipment manuals and interacting with equipment manufacturers to keep production equipment running efficiently
- Disassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them, and reassemble the parts
- Collect and store distinct machinery parts
- Visit various manufacturing sites to assess potential issues or needs
- Perform electrical repairs such as replacing switches and wiring; general repairs to refrigeration equipment; install/repairs of water lines
- Operate equipment necessary to complete the assigned tasks
- Determine the requirements to carry out specific tasks or jobs
- Work through maintenance lists as required
- Perform routine walkthrough checklists for each property
- Collaborate with production workers and/or engineers when using the machines
- Complete all applicable quality records
- Work in accordance with documented procedures and complete all applicable records
What You Bring:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and persuasively
- Ability to project and maintain a professional corporate image to clients, vendors and fellow employees
- Self-starter, with the ability to work efficiently in a team or matrix environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively

- Minimum 5 years in millwrighting or equivalent
- Proficiency in working with and understanding fluid power, electrical, electronics, mechanical equipment (minimum 5 years)
- Skilled in reading blueprints and schematics (minimum 5 years)
- Materials knowledge and material handling experience (minimum 5 years)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
