The Role:
Advanced Bending Technologies is seeking an experienced Rotary Draw / Mandrel Bending Operator to join our production team. This position is ideally suited for a skilled operator who can independently set up tooling, interpret spool drawings, and produce accurate, repeatable bends in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate rotary draw/mandrel bending equipment
- Select and install bend dies, clamp dies, pressure dies, wiper dies, and mandrels
- Read and interpret spool drawings, fabrication drawings, and work orders
- Produce high-quality bends that meet customer specifications and tolerances
- Verify dimensions and perform in-process quality inspections
- Troubleshoot tooling, setup, and production issues
- Safely handle pipe, tube, and tooling using overhead cranes and shop equipment
- Set up machines for each specific order
- Handle raw material and finished product as needed
- Bend and roll various materials and profiles
- Perform other shop duties including torch cutting, saw cutting, washing, sand filling, etc.
- Measure and inspect in-process and finished product
- Verify calibration of measuring devices
- Label and package finished product as needed
- Perform machine lubrication, maintenance, and work station upkeep
- Assist with shipping and receiving when necessary
- Working in accordance with documented policies and procedures
- Complete all applicable quality records

- Must have basic math skills
- Able to accurately read a tape measure
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of rotary draw/mandrel bending experience
- Proficiency in multiple bending processes (minimum 6 months)
- Materials knowledge, shop procedures (minimum 6 months)
- Material handling experience (minimum 6 months)
- Experience performing complete tooling setups and machine changeovers
- Strong understanding of:
- Pipe and tube sizes
- Material grades and specifications
- Wall thicknesses and pipe schedules
- Overhead crane and fabrication experience considered an asset
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday, Available for shift work (afternoons)
