Job Description
On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop, and support AI/ML solutions that leverage generative AI and retrieval-augmented techniques to address business needs across the organization. The resource will work with both structured and unstructured data to build, train, and optimize models, deploy solutions into cloud (Azure) production environments, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and effective AI-driven outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support AI/ML solutions leveraging modern generative AI and retrieval techniques (e.g., RAG) to meet business needs.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to develop, train, and optimize AI models for production use.
- Deploy and maintain AI solutions in cloud environments (Azure), ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Evaluate model performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective AI-driven outcomes
Mandatory Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 6+ years of equivalent work experience in IT
- Knowledge Graphs & Structured Data - experience building or working with graph-based data structures to support AI applications
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) - experience combining retrieval and generative AI techniques to improve response accuracy
- Information Retrieval & Search - experience with search/indexing techniques for retrieving relevant information from large datasets
- Graph Data Processing - experience preprocessing and analyzing graph-based data to support AI/ML tasks
- Model Training & Optimization - experience training and optimizing large-scale AI/ML models for performance and scalability
- Embeddings & Vector Search - experience with embeddings and vector databases for semantic search and retrieval
- Model Evaluation - experience assessing AI model quality and performance using standard evaluation metrics
- Cloud & Deployment - experience deploying AI solutions in cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Programming & Data Engineering - proficiency in Python (or similar) and experience with data pipeline/ETL processes
