AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a
Fire Assay Technician to join our Thunder Bay team. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations by preparing and analyzing samples while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality results.
What You Will Be Doing
- Receive work orders and perform sample preparation.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration standards for analysis.
- Perform sample analysis according to established procedures.
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation in an optimized and calibrated condition.
- Troubleshoot basic instrumental issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Verify and validate analytical data.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control (QC) requirements.
- Meet established quality assurance and turnaround time specifications.
- Assist with training junior analysts as required.
- Perform other laboratory and administrative duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Table
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.
- Must be able to properly wear a respirator and work in hot conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak periods as required.
- Previous laboratory experience is an asset; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Compensation
$20.00–$27.00 per hour
